How to Make a Minister More Effective
Author unknown

• Build his spiritual power by praying for him.

Build his reputation by speaking well of him. He will have weak and strong points. His influence will depend on which of them you stress.

Build his wisdom by consulting with him. Most ministers will listen to and consider good advice.

Build his leadership by cooperating with him. For every great minister, there are folks supporting his work.

Build his pulpit power by hearing him. Full pews challenge a man to prepare and deliver great sermons. Empty pews are disheartening.

Build his morale by encouraging him. Letting him know of your support can be a life saver.

The greatest thing we can do for our preacher is to follow the Christ he preaches.

A great preacher will build the congregation and a great congregation will build her minister. A church is as responsible for what she does to her minister as is the minister for what he does to the church. ❦

AM SERMON:
"'Go Ye'....Means Go Me"
(Matthew 28:18-20)
PM SERMON:
"History of Islam"
(Colossians 2:8-10)

We extend our prayers and deepest sympathies to Wanda Greene and Ora Lee Skinner and their families in the passing of their sister, Juanita Detrick, this past Sunday night (9th), after her loss to a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in Sebastion, FL.

We also are mindful of the family and friends of Vannie Dowdy who also passed away on Sunday, December 9th. Sister Dowdy was a long time member here at Orange Street until Alzheimer's necessitated her moving to North Florida with her family several years ago. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in Bartow, FL.

I have looked at life for only a moment, and it appears that our God given 70 years are really only a moment, and I find that the greatest people I have met are those kind persons that would rather have their humble circumstances along with honor and respect to be their way of life.
