Be Excited
About Our Meeting

I am glad we have gospel meetings! There is something special about hearing the gospel every day, being with Christians, praising God, and sharing the good news with souls that have not yet turned to Jesus. God's power for salvation (Romans 1:16) is the most interesting and dynamic force on earth. What Christian would refuse such an opportunity to feast on the word of life?

Our meeting is a time of reaping. For months and years, Christian workers have been planting and watering the seed of the kingdom in hopes that good fruit may come forth to God's honor and glory. The preacher will exhort with all his power for those souls which have not obeyed the gospel to submit themselves to the will of God and be saved. All Christians in whose hearts the love of God dwells will be praying for those souls which believe to put their faith into action and obey the Lord (Matthew 7:24). We must look for a great harvest.

Gospel meetings are a great opportunity to become acquainted with people. Fellow Christians from other congregations will be here. There will be interested people from the community that you can encourage in their quest for the t ruth. The visiting preacher wants to meet you, for a better knowledge of the congregation helps him present his lessons in the most effective way. He will probably speak of us to his own people. Are you willing to let others form his opinion about you? The meeting also makes for happy reunions of old friends who will come to hear the lessons. Don't disappoint them by being absent for no good reason.

If you come prepared to learn, you will. The lessons will be the best ones the preacher has to present. He will discuss things you can profit from and that you need to understand better 1 Peter 2:2). It will challenge your spirit and sharpen your sword. You may find the answer to some problem that is troubling your life. You will learn how to help others find the solution to their sin problem. We are always to be students of God's word (2 Timothy 2:15). The meeting will be a chance to make a quantum leap in your Bible knowledge, in your faith, and in your effectiveness for Christ.

Some may grown, "I have to go to the meeting." Pray for them, for something is wrong in their soul. Be excited about the meeting and your zeal will spread to others. Pray for the meeting with the knowledge that your efforts in its behalf will justify your existence far more than what you normally would have done. Talk about the meeting to everyone like you would if the Lord himself were the preacher (the preacher is the Lord's herald). And then, by all means, attend the meeting faithfully, enthusiastically and reverently. Let's be excited about our meeting.

Ladies’ Group Update
In September, approximately 100 items were delivered to the Regency Medical Center in Winter Haven – including bears and baby clothes. These were made by the Ladies’ Work Group and will be distributed to needy families.
The regular 4th Monday meeting of the ladies’s group will meet tomorrow morning (Monday, Sept. 23) at 10am instead of their usual evening meeting --due to the Fishers of Men class.

Pantry Items

Help keep the pantry well stocked for those times when a need arises.

Dinner-On-The-Grounds
Our monthly last Sunday fellowship will be Next Sunday at Noon to coincide with the start of our Gospel Meeting.

Are we faithful? If we had a refrigerator that would quit for a day, now and them, would we regard it as dependable? Yet there are Christians who regard themselves as faithful, who miss a service for reasons that wouldn’t keep them from work or social functions. Jesus said, "Be thou faithful... until death, and I will give you a crown..." (Rev. 2:10)
