Who is the Orange Street church of Christ?

We are one of many autonomous congregations of the Lord's church who believe it is possible to have first century New Testament Christianity today. In order for this to be a reality, we must speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. We must be the same in Name, Organization, Worship, Doctrine and Life as was the first century church. The Bible is the only authority we recognize in religious and moral matters and we are only right when we follow it. We invite you to come visit and worship with us at any or all of our scheduled services. We have the Lord’s Supper on the first day of the week, congregational singing, prayer, the giving of our means, and the teaching and preaching of God’s word.

You are also invited to visit our website on the world wide web at www.OrangeStreetcofc.com. There you can keep up with the latest congregational news, programs and special classes as well as read the weekly bulletin and “Faith Builder” articles. There are also some interesting pages on the history of the Orange Street congregation.

Be sure to let us know if there is some way we can be of service and help you in your spiritual needs. ❦

The teen group will begin meeting on the first Sunday of each month after the evening services. In the future the group will meet at various members homes and there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for those who would like to have the group meet in their home on a given month. See Matt Faneuf or Bob Bauer for more details.

Dinner-on-the-Grounds
In conjunction with the start of our Gospel Meeting today, we will have a fellowship meal in the annex after the morning services. Members and visitors alike are invited to attend.

cal_man.gifOctober Calendars
The October edition of the Orange Street Activities Calendar and Those To Serve list is available today in the foyer. Be sure to pick-up a copy and be informed.

Pantry Note...
Last week we listed the current needs for the pantry. They were: canned meats, vegetables and coffee. We should have noted that containers of coffee should be no larger than one pound in size.

Since man was made to love and to be loved, Jesus did not issue an arbitrary command foreign to the nature of man when he said, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" (Matt 19:19). In other words, the capacity to love others is intimately tied up with the experience of being on reasonably good terms with oneself.
