MISALIGNED PRIORITIES
Alan C. Cole

We all have very busy lives, There's always something that needs doing or somewhere to be. It's easy to forget what is really most important in this fast paced and time consuming age in which we live. The Lord's words found in Matthew 6:33 help in keeping our priorities in proper order. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

We learn from the Lord that spiritual matters must come first God, Jesus, the church, Bible study, salvation, etc. must stay at the top of our priority list This means worship must come before a pleasure boat ride. It also means Jesus and his desires must precede our jobs. Seeking the kingdom of God first, furthermore, means assembling for Bible study must come before sporting events.

No matter how busy life may become, spiritual matters must remain in first place. A serious problem exists when the Sunday evening and Wednesday evening attendance is 58 percent less than the Sunday morning worship attendance. The problem could be quickly resolved by realigning our misaligned priorities. We should all be fired up about putting the kingdom of God first. Then everything else will fall into its proper place.

For Your Information
Brother Louis reports that the 34th Street Haitian congregation is continuing to grow. They have recently had 4 baptisms and continue to have approximately 20 visitors per Sunday a.m. service. They continue to knock doors and have a great deal of interest shown from the community in regard to the Church.

It is said that, "the darkest hour is before the dawn" and "things could get worse before they get better." In other words, it pays to be calm at all times. The wise writer wrote, "He that controls his spirit is greater than he that captures a city."
