Indifference
- I John 2:3-6
Author Unknown
The person guilty of indifference claims
to know God, but makes no attempt to obey His word. His profession
produces
no
fruit. This is the bottom line. We often have heard, "The proof
of the pudding is in the eating," In Christianity, the "proof
of the pudding is in the attitude toward God's word". The Psalmist
said, "Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin
against Thee" (Psa. 119:11). This must be the attitude of every
child of God, if they are to enjoy fellowship with Him.
Walking in the light, recognizing and confessing our sins; faithfully
serving Jesus; loving God and one another, and many other requirements
of the faith of Christ, hinge on our attitude toward the word of
God. We must, at all times, with great zeal, guard against the
attitude of indifference, for it, along with the many other wiles
of the devil, will keep us out of fellowship with God.
