Volume XXIII - Number 51

Godly Homes Are The Answer!
Kenneth Davis

It is easy to see America is in trouble. There is more crime, more violence, more suicides, more drugs, mid more of almost everything except those things which am right. Psalm 11:3 says, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" And it seems that the foundations of our nation are indeed being destroyed.

Our nation used to be called a God-fearing nation but now seems to be a God-less nation. But there is hope. It is found in the good people who make up our nation. The "Lord is in His holy temple," and goodness and truth always will prevail. However, this does not mean America always will prevail. There must be enough good people to turn around this nation.

We have the greatest technology and medical care in the world, but our values, morality, and lack of moral fiber show that this is not "the best of times" but "the worst of times."

Nations that once were great world powers are now known only to the readers of history books. Let us pray that will not be the destiny of America. It does not have to be so. And let us also pray that we will never be part of the problem.

But what can we do? We can see that the whole family is at Bible Classes. This may seem like a small thing when discussing the future of the greatest country in the world. But strong godly families, made up of mothers, fathers, and children who know and follow God's Word, are the answer. And Bible Classes can make us part of the solution.

Robert (Bobby) Anderson, son of Frank and Christine (Chris) Anderson, passed away on Tuesday afternoon (16th). Funeral services were held yesterday in Winter Haven. They are members at Central in Winter Haven, and known by several here at Orange Street.

Christianity is not, or at least should not be, a ho-hum, humdrum, half-hearted, weak-kneed part of our existence. Paul said, "For me to live is Christ." (Philippians 1:21). It is obvious that Christianity to Paul was not a take-it-or-leave-it matter; it was the heart and center of his life.
