Volume XXIV - Number 6

More Blessed !

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.

If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of others in this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read anything at all.

Thank God that you are blessed in ways you may never even know.

Cupid’s Café
Our annual Cupid’s Café fellowship meal is planned for next Sunday evening, Feb. 15th, in the annex. This is the meal set aside to honor our women folk and the men do the cooking and serving. Men who have not signed up for food and/or service should do so soon. There is a sign-up list posted on the bulletin board in the foyer. Spaghetti dishes of all sorts, flavors, and styles will be the menu of the day. Let's all participate so it will be a success for our ladies.

Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty. - Sicilian proverb

New Directories
We are starting to work on new membership directories for the congregation. We are going to try and produce them “in house” this time and you will be contacted when it’s time to get your picture made. Carl and Nancy Chambers are heading the project and you should see them if you have any questions or suggestions. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

Are angry words necessary in our lives? It seems we are a society of anger, on every hand we find someone speaking in anger. God would not have it so.
" A fool uttereth all his anger; but a wise man keepeth it back and stilleth it."
Proverb 29:11
