Could It Happen Here?

One day, a member of the Lord's church was mowing his backyard when his neighbor struck up a conversation with him. "I understand you are a member of the church Of Christ?"

"Yes, that is right" said the brother.

"Is it true that you folks believe you are members of the church mentioned in the Bible?" he asked.

"Yes, sir! That is exactly right."

"Well, I'd like to go with you sometime and learn a about this church," said the neighbor with interest

"Certainly would be happy to have you come with us, the brother gladly replied.

"What about tonight? Aren't you folks having a meeting this week?" inquired the neighbor. "I received an advertisement in the mail."

The brother looked very uncomfortable and hesitated before replying. Finally, he said, "well, umm... you see, we hadn't planned on going tonight. We went last night, but today I had planned on mowing the grass a and then going to the ballpark for my little boys ball game."

The neighbor looked a little bit puzzled and said, "Oh, I see." The neighbor went back into his house and said to his wife, "Those folks next door belong to the church and claim it's important. But, if mowing the grass and going to a ball game comes before the work of the church, it can't be very important!"

Youth Outing
The youth group is planning to go out to play carpet golf at the Admiral’s Inn in Winter Haven after the PM worship services this afternoon (Sunday). A trip to Cici’s Pizza is planned following the games. See Matt Faneuf for more details.

The Pantry
We need to restock our pantry for the approaching holiday season. We still need canned goods and personal hygiene products. Leave items on the back table in the annex.

Jesus said that many follow the broad road to destruction and few travel the narrow road to life (Matthew 7:13-14). If you follow the majority in wrong doing, be prepared to follow them into eternal punishment -- for this is the destination of those who live lives of sin and then try to justify it by the number that follow the same course, "thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil". (Exodus 23:2a)
