The Beauty of Worship
Author Unknown
"Going to worship." I know when I go to worship, that I will be among saints. Together, we will sing praises to our worthy Lord.
We gladly bow our heads, giving thanks for the wonderfulness of our Lord and thank Him for all He has done and is yet to do. His supper becomes very special as we remember the death, burial, and resurrection of our precious Lord.
Then, there is fellowship. Brothers and sisters freely give warm hugs or handshakes to each other -- expressing genuine gladness to see one another. Excitement is in the air.
Going to worship is a splendid beauty. It is all about God. Worldly thoughts and ways are put aside. The unity is of one. Everyone needs this sort of beauty in their life.
In John 4:23-24, Jesus spoke about worship of God. "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." This "spirit" is one's attitude toward God. This "truth" is a specific way to worship God. Worship for all people in all nations would be new and all old ways would be abandoned (CoI. 2:14). No appeal to the Old Testament or human customs or teachings could be made (Matt. 15:9). In this new pattern for worship in song, there are no choirs, solo singers, praise teams, etc., but Christians singing simultaneously "to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Eph. 5:19). The only acceptable "instrument" for worship is the human heart.
In this new pattern, they partook of the Lord's supper on the first day of every week and' preaching (Acts 20:7), praying (Acts 2:42), and giving ,(1 Cor. 16:1-2).
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42).

The Bible tells us we can measure the real kind of friend we are by how we speak to others. "He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter.” It is easy to explain away our slips. "I was only hoping to find someone who could be of help." “Everybody already knew it, so I wasn't really telling anything new." When you hear something that could hurt another, don't pass it on, pass it up.
