Elders Visitation
It should be understood that for a congregation and its leaders to have confidence in one another, there must be close and persistent association. This is accomplished by faithful attendance, and the willingness for family members and the leadership to have time to reflect upon their desires and potential.
In the past year we solicited and received from most of the members an outlined questionnaire that permitted both the elders and the congregation insight into the many talents possessed by the congregation, and the services our members were willing and able to offer.
In the coming year, the elders have a goal to have a personal visit with each family in the congregation. We need and solicit your insight and wisdom as we, at your request, and under God's directive, serve you in providing oversight of the Orange Street congregation. In order to accomplish we wish to offer the following plan for your consideration. Below is a proposal that we are making in order to be as expeditious as possible.

If there is any Biblical principle that is violated in this proposal, we ask you to show the elders where we need to correct it. If there is additional wisdom and insight you can offer the leadership in gaining the most insight into the congregation, the elders are willing to receive it and will do all we deem wise to see that the best decisions are made for the Orange Street congregation.
If we do not receive any additional input that we can utilize from the congregation, and if there is no Biblical principle violated, the elders will place a list of the members of the congregation on the bulletin board for family members to make a choice as to the time and circumstances that is best suited for all involved. At the present time our records show that there are 125 members of the congregation.
If a meeting in the home is scheduled, then at least two of your elders will meet with you in your home. The elders meeting in your home will be determined by the schedule of the elders as time and circumstances dictate.
Those who are shut-in or who are unable to attend will receive a visit in their living quarters, and their input and wishes will be given the same consideration as each and every member.
We covet your prayers and support in these matters. The congregation can be no greater than the combined wisdom and cooperation of each and every member. As a member of the congregation, you should not feel that these scheduled meetings are the only time you may consult with the leadership. We meet most every Sunday evening at 5:00. If you need to meet with us, let it be known. If you wish to meet with us at other times, we stand ready to assist you to the best of our ability.
