I Know
He Cares...

Francis
of Sales, a sixteenth century leader of the Counter-Reformation, wrote.
"Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life in fear;
rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose you
are, will deliver you out of them. He is your Keeper. He has kept you
hitherto. Hold fast to his dear hand, and he will lead you safely through
all things; and, when you cannot stand, he will bear you in his arms.
Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. Our Father will either
shield you from suffering, or he will give you strength to bear it."
Sometimes,
in the face of great heartache and adversity, ones reliance and
confidence in God are ones only foundation for hope. God knows each
one of us. God cares for each one of us. God wants the best for us and
will work out things toward that end. We are told that, in those times
when we do not know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.
Thus, when we are traveling the path of trials, we can have hope for God
is walking with us.
Foot Prints
In The Sand
One night
a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the
Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and
the other to the Lord.
When the
last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints
in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there
was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really
bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said
that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But
I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there
is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you
most, you would leave me."
The Lord
replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never
leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only
one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
Trust in
God that you might have hope. He will never leave nor forsake you.
