We departed from Orlando around noon on 17 July and arrived in Ghana the next morning around 9 a.m. Ghana time (5 a.m. EST). Meeting us at the airport were Addo Adela, John Patamia, and other Ghanaian brothers. While Bob Bauer and Addo Adela went to exchange dollars for Ghanaian cedis, the rest of us went to Afienya and the home of Emmanuel and Francisca Kwawu, which would be our campaign base for the next 23 days.
Wednesday, 18 June.
Bob Bauer traveled to the north with Ted Wheeler’s campaign and I began my work with World Bible school students. Today I met with two students and offered encouragement to them to continue with their studies.
Thursday, 19 June
Today John and Willie Patamia and myself traveled to Aveyime. I started working with WBS students and had one lecture with WBS students at Aveyime Senior Secondary School. In the afternoon, I spoke twice to students at the Aveyime Catholic Junior Secondary School plus spoke to an all girl audience at the Aveyime Senior Secondary School. I also had an opportunity to meet with a current WBS student and have a study/ talk with him.
Friday, 20 June
I spoke at the Sege Junior Secondary School in the morning and enrolled more students in the WBS. I also spoke in the afternoon at the Sege Senior Secondary School. The students stood in the hot sun as I spoke. I kept it very short. Also in attendance were students from the church of Christ Student Union, a group of young people who help evangelize areas under the oversight of the local congregation. We enrolled between 50 and 60 new WBS students. I had an extensive Bible Study with a friend of Willie Patamia and that evening I did street preaching at Battor and four obeyed the gospel.
Saturday, 21 June
I spent the day doing personal work in Aveyime, Battor, and in an area village. There was one baptism. That evening I street preached and there were five more baptisms.
Sunday, 22 June
Today I worshiped with the church at Aveyime and also had a personal study with a WBS student who was baptized. In all this past week, a total of 23 baptisms and a new congregation started at Battor with the assistance of the young people from the church of Christ student union.
Monday, 23 June
Today I spent the day speaking at various local school. I would encourage the students to become WBS students and also would have discussions with current WBS students. In all I visited five schools.
Tuesday, 24 June
Today was a repeat of yesterday. I spoke at a senior secondary school in Battor and returned to a school in Aveyime to collect further WBS enrollment forms. As of today, 500 new students have been enrolled in WBS.
Wednesday, 25 June
Today we finished up in Aveyime. I met with two former WBS students who had been baptized last year and they reported that they had remained faithful in the Lord. This evening we returned to Afienya to meet up with Bob Bauer and begin our campaign at Afienya.
